What is GitHub?

GitHub is a web-based platform that provides a collaborative environment for developers to host, manage, and share their software projects. It is built on Git, a distributed version control system, and offers a wide range of features to facilitate code collaboration, version control, and project management.

We mention it here as we ask all of our students to open a GitHub account and save their projects. It’s like a portfolio for digital creators. Stanford & MIT are now requesting your GitHub portfolio as part of your application and other schools will soon follow.
